ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville police are investigating two late-night shootings Sunday that left three people hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers first responded around 10:11 p.m. to reports of gunfire near Livingston Street, according to the Asheville Police Department. Investigators found 19 shell casings but reported no property damage or injuries at the scene. The suspects had fled before officers arrived.

Shortly afterward, police were called to the 200 block of Deaverview Road, where they found two victims with gunshot wounds. One was inside a vehicle that also contained an infant secured in a child safety seat, police said. A third victim was located inside a nearby residence. Officers provided emergency aid before all three were taken to Mission Hospital.

A forensic search of the area uncovered 46 shell casings, five projectiles and damage to four apartments and 10 vehicles.

Investigators said surveillance footage from both locations showed a dark red four-door Hyundai sedan connected to the shootings. No arrests have been made.

Police are asking anyone with information to call APD at 828-252-1110, use the TIP2APD smartphone app or text TIP2APD to 847411.
