ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville police are investigating another gun discharge in a north Asheville neighborhood — the second within a week.

No injuries were reported in either incident, Asheville police said in a news release.

The first incident happened July 25. Officers were called to a Griffing Boulevard residence about 9:34 a.m. to investigate property damage. Officers discovered 15 bullet holes in the front of the residence and recovered 15 shell casings, the news release said.

In the second incident, officers responded to reports of gun discharge at the same Griffing Boulevard home at about 3:09 p.m. Tuesday, July 30.

Police said a neighbor called to report the gunshots.

While investigating a shooting incident, Asheville police arrested 18-year-old Stephen Erik Koerschner, who had open warrants for driving while impaired and serious injury by vehicle from an incident two weeks ago.

Officers made several attempts to contact the homeowners, the news release said. After some time, 18-year-old Stephen Erik Koerschner, who had open warrants for driving while impaired and serious injury by vehicle from an incident two weeks ago, exited the residence without incident and was taken into custody.

Koerschner was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $30,000 secured bond.

The shooting incidents are under investigation. Anyone with information or home surveillance video that may have captured the incidents is asked to contact Asheville police at 828-252-1110.
