ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The return of Asheville City Soccer Club matches at Greenwood Field will bring men’s and women’s USL action back to the city this month, with club leaders emphasizing a unified identity, expanded performance infrastructure and deeper community ties.

The club’s USL League Two side and USL W League squad will once again play their home matches at Greenwood Field on the campus of UNC Asheville, this season as part of what officials describe as a continued push to establish one of the most complete pre-professional environments in the USL ecosystem.

“This isn’t just another season,” the club said in a statement. “It’s a continuation of our goal to be the best pre-professional set-up in the USL system.”

Integrated performance model

Central to that effort is the club’s Integrated Performance model, which aligns training, recovery and player health across both programs.

Ronnie Hreha serves as Director of Player Health & Performance and leads the initiative. Hreha also operates the HF Center of Exercise Science, which is the hub of the club’s broader performance network.

Asheville City SC has also expanded partnerships focused on player wellness and recovery, including Movement for Life, One Love Chiropractic, Asheville Cryotherapy, Mission Health, HF Center of Exercise Science, Headwaters Coaching, Romeo Performance Coaching, Longevity Physical Therapy, and Balsam Bodywork.

Club officials say the model is designed to ensure players are supported “as complete athletes,” with coordinated attention to preparation, recovery and long-term development.

Shared identity on and off the field

ACSC features an intertwined relationship between the men’s and women’s sides, built on common expectations for professionalism, accountability, and community engagement.

Both programs will operate under the same identity framework, with an emphasis on consistency in training standards and matchday preparation.

Matchday experience at Greenwood Field

Home matches at Greenwood Field will again feature supporters’ group South Slope Blues, whose presence has become a defining part of the club’s atmosphere.

Club officials say matchdays are intended to reflect Asheville’s broader soccer culture, combining competitive play with a supporter-driven environment.

Community growth and partnerships

Beyond the field, Asheville City SC is highlighting continued growth through corporate partnerships, local business involvement, and its host family program, which connects players with area households during the season.

ACSC’s long-term focus remains rooted in Asheville, positioning itself not only as a development pathway for elite players but as a community-based organization with local identity at its core.

May home matches

Asheville City SC’s USL-2 and USL-W teams are scheduled to host multiple home matches in May at Greenwood Field. Specific match dates and opponents are listed, as well as tickets, are available through the club’s official ticketing channels at www.ashevillecitysc.com.
