Victim identified in Sunday a.m. homicide on Long Shoals Road

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) —

Asheville police are investigating a homicide early Sunday morning, after a 49-year-old man was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound at an apartment in the 300 block of Long Shoals Road.

It was the fourth homicide in the city in 2024, police said in a press release.

According to the release, about 6 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to an apartment in the 300 block of Long Shoals Road, where they found a man deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

On Sunday afternoon, police identified the victim as Terry Lee Landrum Sr., 49, following notification of next of kin.

The Criminal Investigations Division and forensic technicians were actively investigating, with assistance from the N.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiners. By early afternoon, investigators still were at the scene inside the Artisan at Biltmore Park apartment complex.
