ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Tourists announced Monday that their ballpark will be renamed HomeTrust Park as part of a new partnership with HomeTrust Bank.

Team officials said the agreement reflects a shared history and longstanding ties to the Asheville community. Both organizations have operated in Western North Carolina for more than a century.

“This ballpark has been part of Asheville’s story for more than a century, and we’re proud to partner with HomeTrust to carry that tradition forward,” said Brian DeWine, president of the Tourists.

HomeTrust Bank, founded in 1926, is headquartered in Asheville, while the Tourists date to 1915. Together, the organizations represent more than 200 years of combined service in the region.

“HomeTrust Bank and the Asheville Tourists share more than a name on a ballpark — we share a home and a century-long commitment to this community,” said C. Hunter Westbrook, the bank’s president and CEO.

The ballpark will continue to host baseball games and community events, serving as a gathering place for residents and visitors.

The new name takes effect immediately and will be reflected in signage, branding and team communications.

The Tourists are the High-A affiliate of the Houston Astros and have sent more than 500 players to the major leagues.
