ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Resurfacing work on Hazel Mill Road is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Oct. 7, according to the city of Asheville.

Tarheel Paving will handle the project, which will extend from Clayton Avenue to about 400 feet north of Oak Hill Drive, marking the end of the city limits. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and is expected to last about two weeks.

Hazel Mill Road will remain open during construction, but drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible, city officials said.

A separate contract will cover resurfacing between Clayton and Patton avenues at a later date.

City officials thanked residents for their patience as the improvements are completed.
