ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) – Biltmore Avenue has been shuttered to all traffic near downtown Asheville due to a fire.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has reported that both directions on U.S. 25/Biltmore Avenue are closed until at least 8:30 a.m. today “between South Charlotte Street and South Market Street Extension.” Impacts to traffic downtown, according to NCDOT, are expected to be “high.”
