Popular options include picnicking at overlooks, hiking scenic routes, watching sunrise or sunset views and exploring nearby mountain communities.

Visitors can also spend the night at designated campgrounds, listen to regional music at the Blue Ridge Music Center and attend ranger-led programs and cultural demonstrations throughout the season.

Park officials are reminding travelers to recreate responsibly and follow Leave No Trace principles, including properly disposing of waste, respecting wildlife, staying on durable surfaces and minimizing campfire impacts. Officials also urged visitors to plan ahead, check current road conditions and weather forecasts, and respect all closure areas.
