NEBO, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Justin Bradley Johnson, 38, from Nebo, N.C., was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon after a traffic stop last weekend.

McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jaden Gragg issued the charges. Johnson was denied bond due to already being out on pretrial release at the time of the traffic stop.

The stop occurred on Sunday, July 19, along N.C. 226 South. Johnson was driving a white Toyota truck with “no license and a fictitious registration plate,” MCSO said.

When Johnson was pulled over, deputies discovered he had outstanding warrants in McDowell County and Mitchell County and discovered a loaded firearm in the vehicle.

“Johnson is a convicted felon and is not allowed to own or possess a gun in the state of North Carolina,” MCSO explained.

The MCSO thanked the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for their assistance with the arrest.
