Evacuate: Crews battling brush fire near Tryon

TRYON, N.C. (828newsNOW) — An evacuation order was issued for areas near Tryon on Saturday afternoon because of a wildfire.

Emergency officials said people in the following areas should evacuate:

  • 1100-3910 U.S. 176
  • Meadowlark Drive
  • Warrior Mountain Road
  • Sourwood Ridge Road
  • Oceanview Drive
  • Black Bear Lane
  • Joines Drive
  • Tomahawk Lane
  • Rhododendron Drive
  • Azalea Drive
  • Camp David Drive
  • Jessica Hope Lane
  • Valley View Lane
  • Jericho Drive
  • Stone Cir Drive
  • Residents on Warrior Drive from U.S. 176 to Meadowlark Drive
  • Miller Drive
  • Baker Road

An active brush fire is spreading rapidly, emergency officials said. Multiple fire departments are on the scene.
