ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Convoy of Hope will team up with churches, nonprofits and local businesses on Saturday, Aug. 9, to provide free groceries and community services to residents in Asheville and Swannanoa.
The events will take place at two locations: Asheville Christian Academy in Swannanoa and Walton Street Park in Asheville. Gates open at 10 a.m. at the academy and noon at the park. The events will be held rain or shine.
Attendees can receive free groceries, children’s shoes, backpacks, hot meals and access to community services, including a Kids’ Zone. All goods and services will be available while supplies last. No identification is required, and everyone is welcome.
Organizers said the event is intended to build stronger communities through generosity and provide an opportunity for local volunteers to serve their neighbors.
