ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — This week, Good Morning America will journey to Highland Brewing for a live show commemorating Asheville’s resilience six months after Hurricane Helene.

The “Asheville Rising” program will air from 7 to 9 a.m., Thursday, March 27 on GMA.

“I’ll see you Thursday on @goodmorningamerica for Asheville Rising – six months after Helene, a check-in with the heroes who have been working to restore those communities and some surprises,” GMA host Ginger Zee wrote on Instagram.

The storm struck Asheville and other communities in the western North Carolina region on September 27, 2024. The area has been on a long road to recovery since.
