ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Cesar Hernandez delivered a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning to lift the Asheville Tourists to a 7-6 win over the Greenville Drive on Thursday night, giving Asheville its first home victory of the season.

The Tourists (5-13) built an early cushion, scoring five runs in the first two innings. Ethan Frey drove in a run with a double, and Jason Schiavone added a grand slam to left field.

Greenville (8-10) rallied to tie the game, scoring three runs in the fifth inning. Asheville answered with a run in the bottom half, but the Drive added three more in the eighth to even the score at 6.

After a scoreless ninth inning, both teams began the 10th with a runner on second under minor league extra-inning rules. Colby Langford (1-0) retired the side for Asheville, striking out two batters.

In the bottom of the inning, Max Holy advanced the automatic runner with a bunt before Hernandez’s fly ball to center brought home the winning run.
