ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) –– After a year of rebuilding in the Historic Biltmore Village neighborhood, located just outside of downtown Asheville, the district will launch a month-long holiday celebration to ring in its reconstruction.

The festivities, dubbed “It’s A Wonderful Village,” will feature shopping experiences, family-friendly activities and more. Find the full list below.

“It’s A Wonderful Village” lineup

A press release from the Historic Biltmore Village Association summarized the holiday events:

Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 – Shop the Village

“Kick off your holiday shopping during Black Friday and Small Business Weekend! Shoppers can enjoy unique gifts, special promotions and the joy of supporting local merchants and makers in one of Asheville’s most charming settings.”

Dec. 6-7 – Dickens Christmas in the Village

“Step back in time with roving Dickens-era entertainers, carolers in period costume and cozy holiday treats. This scaled-down version of Biltmore Village’s signature holiday event captures the timeless spirit of the season.”

Dec. 7 – Santa in the Village

“Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus make a special stop in Historic Biltmore Village! Families are invited to bring wish lists and cameras for a magical visit and holiday photos at New Morning Gallery from 1-4 p.m.”

Dec. 11-31 – A Taste of the Village

“Celebrate the flavors of the holidays with special food and drink offerings from Village restaurants, cafés and coffee shops. From festive cocktails to seasonal desserts, this month-long event is a delicious way to explore the Village’s culinary scene.”

Dec. 13 – Kids Take Over the Village

“A full day of family fun! Enjoy mermaid/fairy hair at Spartina, ornament making at Palm Village Lilly Pulitzer, holiday treats at J.W. Bell, lawn games on the Village Green (relocated to the parking garage at 10 Brook Street in case of inclement weather), face painting, a chance to send those last-minute letters to Santa and even a mom’s mocktail bar at Tina Stephens. It’s a day made for children and families — and the young at heart.”

Dec. 21 – Candlelight Caroling at the Cathedral

“Gather for an evening of candlelight and carols at The Cathedral of All Souls at 6 p.m. With candles lighting the sanctuary, hot chocolate from Corner Kitchen and voices lifted in song, this community singalong will close out the season on a heartwarming note.”

“This year’s It’s A Wonderful Village brings together everything we love about the holidays in Asheville — local shopping, festive food, community events, and the timeless beauty of Biltmore Village,” said Kara Irani, Director of Public Relations for Historic Biltmore Village Association, in the release. “It’s an invitation to slow down, explore and celebrate the spirit of the season right here at home.”
