HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Warrants have been obtained for a juvenile suspect in the Oct. 17 shooting that left a Hendersonville man dead, authorities said.

Police responded around 8:01 p.m. Friday to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire outside a home at 724 Woodcock Drive. When officers arrived, they found 29-year-old Justin Alan Davis, of Hendersonville, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Hendersonville Police Department said the suspect is a juvenile, and under North Carolina law, their name and identifying information cannot be released. Investigators are working with the suspect’s family to encourage a safe surrender.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting local detectives. Police said preliminary evidence indicates the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
