ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The “Reflect & Reconnect” sessions were organized by Resources For Resilience, an Asheville-based nonprofit dedicated to teaching Western North Carolina residents how to navigate trauma, stress and burnout.
The free meetings have been scheduled for 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at the Swannanoa Public Library in Swannanoa, N.C., and 8:30-10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at Wrong Way Campground in Asheville, N.C.
The meetings are based around processing hard emotions after Tropical Storm Helene, which caused catastrophic damage in Western North Carolina in September 2024.
The sessions have been organized at “ground-zero” areas “hardest hit by the storm, offering valuable opportunities to foster understanding, learning and hope in a community setting,” said Erin Ratliff, RFR marketing and communications coordinator.
