HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A Pisgah Forest man has been charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor following an investigation by the Hendersonville Police Department and partnering agencies.

George Stanley Conrad III, 28, was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 18, and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor for possession of child pornography. Authorities said Conrad was living in Hendersonville at the time the alleged crimes were committed.

Conrad is being held without bond at the Henderson County Detention Center.

According to police, the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit began investigating after receiving a tip related to Conrad. Detectives worked with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office and the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said that while child sexual abuse material is not a victimless crime, there are no known local victims at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Hendersonville Police Department at 828-697-3025 or email investigations@hvlnc.gov. Tips can also be submitted through the department’s mobile app, available in the iOS App Store and Google Play.
