ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Travel continues to be a problem in areas around Asheville. Although crews have treated many roads, some icy spots remain, prompting school officials to delay classes Wednesday morning.
Below is a list of closing school closings and delays in the Asheville area:
Bethel Christian Academy – Canton: One-hour delay
Haywood County Schools: Two-hour delay
Madison County Schools: Two-hour delay
Mitchell County Schools: Three-hour delay. Buses will not run on gravel roads or the following roads: Forrest Fisher Road, Deerpark Road, Slagle Road, Odoms Chapel Road, Greasy Creek Road, Brummetts Creek Road, Griffith Road. Blevins Branch will only be run to Perkins Lane
New Kituwah Academy – Elementary: Open at 9:30 a.m.
Tri-County Christian School: Two-hour delay
Yancey County Schools: Two-hour delay
