ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Two men wanted on open warrants for shoplifting and other charges have been taken into custody by the Asheville Police Department.
Jesse Nathaniel Herila, 41, was arrested by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 9 on open charges he obtained in Buncombe County. Herila is currently being held in the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $56,600 secured bond issued by a magistrate.
Herila had two open warrants for larceny and second-degree trespass after an Aug. 1 incident at a South Asheville business. Herila has been arrest 16 times on 25 warrants since 2005, with a rap sheet including felony larceny, cruelty to animals and domestic violence.
Brannan Stephen Nitchman, 34, was arrested on Nov. 2 on open charges for shoplifting from five different South Asheville businesses. Nitchman was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under no bond.
Nitchman has been arrested 28 times on 64 warrants, since 2008, most recently on July 30 of this year. Previous charges include offenses like methamphetamine possession, robbery and trespassing.
