Terra Nova Beer Co. to close by year’s end

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Terra Nova Beer Co. will close by the end of the year, the brewery announced Monday, citing challenges that have made continued operations unsustainable.

In a statement posted to social media, the Asheville-based brewery said the decision “was not made lightly,” noting that strong community support and the dedication of its staff were not enough to overcome ongoing financial pressures.

Terra Nova plans to continue serving beer through December, but its kitchens will shut down earlier. The Swannanoa location will transition to hosting food trucks throughout the month, the company said.

“We’ve faced challenges that make it no longer sustainable for us to keep our doors open,” the statement read. “We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported us as well as to our staff who rode this rollercoaster with us to the end.”

The brewery encouraged other business owners seeking experienced bartenders to contact them so staff can be connected with new opportunities.

Terra Nova said it still has “plenty of delicious brews” available and urged customers to stop by while they can, with specials expected in the coming weeks.
