Asheville Swing Night – 7-11 p.m., Haw Creek Commons, 311 Old Haw Creek Road
Dancers ages 12 and up are invited to come swing dance at Haw Creek Commons. From 7-8 p.m., dancers can choose between a beginner swing dance lesson and a Charleston lesson for intermediate students, followed by social dancing from 8-11 p.m. with DJ Brad Nathanson. No partner is necessary. Admission is $10.
Teen Dungeons & Dragons – 4-6 p.m., North Asheville Public Library, 1030 Merrimon Ave.
Teens looking for adventure may join a local D&D campaign, held the second Friday of every month at North Asheville Library. No experience is necessary, though participants should be ages 13-17. Pre-register at the front desk or by calling (828) 250-4752.

7th Annual Vessels of Merriment – 2-5 p.m., Grovewood Gallery, 111 Grovewood Rd
Grovewood Gallery’s annual celebration of drinking vessels – from wine cups to goblets – will begin with a free and festive reception this weekend at the Grovewood Village art gallery. 16 potters from around the United States have contributed vessels, all of which will be available for purchase from the reception through Dec. 31.
PURR-FECT Asheville, NC Cat Show & Adoption Event – 9 a.m., Asheville Crowne Plaza Exposition Center, 59 Expo Dr.
This weekend, cat lovers are invited to attend the PURR-FECT family-friendly cat show. The event will feature kitty competitions, costume contests, adoption opportunities, a “Meow Mall” for cat items and more. Find tickets here.
Ye Olde Whale Fair – 1-5 p.m., The Whale West Asheville, 507 Haywood Road
The Whale will host a miniature Renaissance Fair in collaboration with the Montford Park Players on Saturday. Medieval-themed vendors will carry fun treasures and oddities and live entertainment will be provided by the MPP and the Moppets Commedia Troupe. Admission is free.
Patton Ave Cruise Night – 5 p.m., 1001 Patton Ave.
Car enthusiasts are encouraged to come out for a Patton Avenue cruise this weekend. Classic car owners congregate in the parking lot by the old Kmart, welcoming old friends and newcomers to join for a ride, roll-through or conversation.

Attic Salt Theatre Company presents “The Thanksgiving Play” – 2:30 p.m., Attic Salt Theatre Arts Space, 2002 Riverside Dr.
Attic Salt Theatre Company will perform the satirical comedy “The Thanksgiving Play” on stage this November. Written by Lakota playwright Larissa FastHorse, the show follows a group of white teachers attempting to craft a politically-correct Thanksgiving play for their students. The plan quickly goes awry, resulting in a sharp, funny satire of the Thanksgiving tradition at large. Read our preview story here.
2nd Annual Soup Cookoff – 2-5 p.m., RAD Brewing Company, 13 Mystery St.
Tickets are $10 for RAD Brewing Company’s annual celebration of soup. Enter a soup or come and judge at the cookoff, which will feature unlimited tastes, a free beer and bragging rights for the winning soup chef. Find tickets here.

Repticon, a massive showcase of reptiles, amphibians and more, will return to Fletcher this weekend. The family-friendly convention will feature hundreds of animals, as well as vendors sporting all things reptile, including merchandise, feed and enthusiasm.
