WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Weaverville water customers who receive their bills by mail will see a redesigned billing statement beginning with the Jan. 31 billing cycle, town officials said.

According to the Town of Weaverville, the updated water bills feature a new layout with added information intended to make statements clearer and easier to understand.

The redesigned bills will include the town’s physical address, office hours, a phone number for paying bills and information about online payments and e-statement enrollment displayed prominently at the top of the statement.

Water usage will now be reported in gallons rather than a consumption factor, a change officials say should make usage easier for customers to track. Bills will also include a bar graph showing a customer’s water usage trends over the past year.

In addition, a new “Total Due After the 20th” box has been added at the bottom of the statement. The amount reflects a $10 late fee that applies if payment is received after the due date.

Town officials said the new layout is the result of updates made in coordination with the town’s accounting software and will be rolled out to all mail-bill customers starting at the end of the month.
